Frequently Asked Questions

How does the process work when we need a flight?

Apex Air Ambulance will need some basic information to get started.

  • Patient information (Faxed copy of the History and Physical and Hospital Face Sheet.)
  • Contact information of the Case Manager or Family Member that is helping coordinate the transfer.
  • Insurance Information (ID#, Date of Birth, and phone # on the back of the card.)
  • Date the transport is to be completed.
  • Location of the patient and final destination.

Once we receive this information we will be able to give you a “bed-to-bed” quote on an air ambulance transport with ground arrangements to and from the aircraft.

What kind of patients do you fly?

Apex Air Ambulance specializes in the following:

  • Neonatal
  • Pediatric BLS, ALS, Critical Care
  • Adult BLS, ALS, Critical Care
  • Geriatric BLS, ALS, Critical Care
  • Organ Transplant and Transport
  • International Transport

Can family members fly with the patient?

Yes, in most cases 1-2 family members can accompany the patient.  There are some special circumstances that may prevent this but every effort will be made to accommodate your needs.

What is “bed-to-bed” service?

Some companies require you to arrange and pay for the ground transport to and from each hospital.  Apex Air Ambulance will include this in the pricing for the flight and the medical crew that will accompany the patient from bed-to-bed.

What is included in the quote?

All costs are included in our quote:

  • Aircraft cost
  • Medical crew
  • Ground transportation on both ends
  • Miscellaneous fees, including landing fees, foreign fees, etc.

How much does it cost?

Since each flight is individualized, a flight coordinator will go over the cost of the flight with you.  If you call we can have a quote to you within the hour, if we receive all required transport information.  If you email, we can have a quote to you within 24 hours.

Does the air ambulance service carry liability and medical malpractice insurance?

Each air ambulance should carry a minimum of $20 million in aircraft liability insurance and a minimum of $1 million in medical malpractice insurance.

What states and countries do you service?

Apex Air Ambulance provides ambulance tranport to all 50 states within the United States.  We also provide service to Canada, Mexico, Europe, China, India, Japan, and the Caribbean Islands.
